Default Smiley faces and whatnot

Hi all!

Is there a way to include smiley faces and other types of faces when sending a message? Is there another menu of symbols to access? Thank you! Steph

Do I have to go back to work tomorrow

Actually, this function does exist in the general messaging program and gTalk. When composing the message, hit menu>more>insert smiley and it will give you a list to choose from. If anyone finds a way to change the default ones with a new smiley pack though, please let me know!

Which keyboard are you using? I believe with the default keyboard you can just "scroll down" on the message area. (From memory, I haven't used the default keyboard in a while, so that may actually be incorrect.) If you're using Swype (which I am) there should be a "done" button to the right, then send.

HOW COOL...they are android faces...this is the coolest thing ever, THANKS!

Do they not remind you of those green alien things in Toy Story?

Actually, I'm wrong about the default keyboard and the send function. Just turned off Swype to double check, and to send in landscape just hit the keyboard looking button in the bottom left corner. Then the send button is visible in landscape.

Do you know if the smiley face shows up on the recipient phone as an droid or as a typed face? Several
recipients that I sent a smiley to....they did not have HTC phones, told me that it showed up to them as a typed face so I was wondering if the smiley face just shows up on the EVO or if both phones have to be EVO's for the recipient to receive an actual smiley image.....Thanks!!

Not sure at all on this one. Could be they show on any android based phone, or only on evo's, or on all (but I doubt that one).
