Default HTC Working to fix battery life

I wrote HTC about the crummy battery life and here's the response I got a week later.

Quote:
Hello, I understand how frustrating it can be when the battery life is less than optimal. HTC and Sprint are taking steps to improve observed battery life. HTC is developing a number of handset software optimizations that are expected to increase device operating times. These updates are expected to be available as part of software pushes scheduled for later this summer. As with any software development effort, we cannot provide an exact date. Additionally, Sprint is working to optimize 4G network settings to improve battery life for customers in 4G markets. I can verify that there is in fact a fix forthcoming, but unfortunately we do not have a date as to when it will be available at this time. I would like to invite you to take part in our Customer Service Satisfaction survey.
Sincerely,
Philip

Actually, I made some adjustments to my phone, and the charge is now lasting up to 24 hours, depending on my activity. Either way, I'm getting better life out of it now than I was getting from my BB Curve, so I couldn't be happier. I usually charge overnight, but now I'm not even having to do that.

I deleted the ATK and turned off the automatic updates for the Stocks.

that update came today! woohoo!
HTC EVO 4G Software version 1.47.651.1

Update includes:

* Improvements to Wi-Fi performance
* Exchange Active Sync improvements, including fix to issues with new account setup, PIN policy usage and Exchange Calendar 2010 Sync
* Addresses Facebook sync issue which can improve battery performance

Download Timing:

* Customers will be notified that an update is available. The download will take a couple minutes (depending on the device connection) and the install will take a couple minutes which includes an automatic power cycle. Download will take a couple minutes if in 3g coverage.
* HTC servers will push the OTA update on a daily basis.
* FOTA server will check for old software version and prompt once a day on units without the latest firmware until customer accepts.

Updated mine yesterday. Phone has been off-charge for almost four hours, and I'm still at about 85%.

My battery almost lasted all day yesterday, and yes, I did get the update. Seems to be a bit better. Thanks HTC and Sprint.

My 4g speed and battery are most definitely better after the update. Best part is I was able to keep my root. :P
