You just need to perform a hard reset so it completely wipes all data and goes back to the factory state where it'll ask you to sign in with your gmail. At that point, turn it off and hand it off to it's new owner.

Instructions for doing a hard reset can be found here: How to hard reset the HTC EVO 4G

A hard reset doesn't clear your sprint phone info, which is why you don't have to have your phone reprogrammed after you do it. I'd call sprint and make sure, but I believe a rtn reset is what you're looking for. It puts the phone back to an actual out of the box state. You can do it yourself if you have your msl(if this is even an option on HTC phones, i'm not sure). Just type in ##rtn#, and go through the steps.

*and just to be clear for anyone reading this. If this is possible on the Evo, it WILL ERASE YOUR PHONES ACCT PROGRAMMING.

The code it's asking for is your msl. You'll have to call Sprint anyway to get it, so you might as well ask them for their help while you're there.

Sorry your Evo experience didn't work out for you. Good luck!

Looking a way to permanent erase deleted Android data like contacts, SMS, photos, videos, call logs, Apps and more from Android devices, simple deletion will leave the possibility of recovery, so in order to protect your personal information from being leak, I recommend you to use the Android Data Eraser.
