Default new to Android, steep learning curve

Picked up my Evo last Friday, 10/15. I am finding the learning curve a little steep. I came to this device from a Palm Pre. I had the Pre just over a year (about normal for me.) In the 48 or so hours I have had the Evo, I am pretty frustrated with getting some settings correct, and some error messages.

However, having gone through a number of Windows Mobile, and Palm devices over the years, I know the learning curve can be steep trying to get something just how you like it. I hope I don't offend to many people with my noob questions.
