Default Add a city to the stock weather widget?

I did a search but I couldn't find anything. Is there a way to add a city to the stock weather widget that isn't listed when you click the + button? I want to add Youngstown, Ohio to my list of cities, but it is not listed when I do a search for cities. Akron and Cleveland are listed, but not Youngstown.

See this article for instructions. I haven't tried it yet myself yet.

Looks like a little work. I will save it until I have some time. Thanks

Just get Beautiful Widgets from the market. Way more customizable.

Thanks, but that is more work than I want to do.

That's ridiculous. There's a much easier way, but I agree with Z, just get Beautiful Widgets. You won't regret it.

Care to share it with us? The one thing the article I posted doesn't mention, but hints at, is that you need to be root on the phone to copy the weather database back to the phone. Or at least I haven't been able to copy the file back using adb.

Does Beatiful Widgets let you add new cities to the weather database? It looks to simply be a set of widgets that use the existing services. Could someone with BW check if it possible to add Dauphin, MB, Canada R7N 0E7? I don't really want to pay ~$2.00 to add one location to the weather database.

Yes. You can add new cities. That's why I suggested it, plus the fact that you can download different skins for the clock and weather. Here's what mine looks like right now.(and dang it's cold up there, isn't it? )

Yes, you can add cities to Beautiful Widgets very easily. I typed in "Dauphin, Manitoba" and it found the city immediately.

As far as adding cities to the stock app, I misunderstood what was being asked. You can't add cities using the + button, but if you are looking to add your current location and it is having a problem finding it, make sure you have your GPS location turned on (the Use GPS Satellites option and Location setting). They need to be turned on and then it should find where you are. If you are traveling somewhere else that isn't listed, you can use the GPS location once you are there and it will add it to the list.
