New update as of today, software version 2.17.651.5, this update improves battery life, gives a "security" update and updates peep to coincide with twitter. I've run Carrier IQ detector and there's no longer a trace of it on the phone, maybe this is what they meant by "security" update.
Phone feels smoother for some reason, may be due to the lack of invasive logging software running...
You will have to go to Settings - System Updates - HTC Software Update and "Check now", this update is manual only until the 17th where you will get a notification. Please be aware "some" users may not see the update as it's rolling out, but most reportedly have.
