I ran into unforeseen problems when I attempted to backup the 8GB MicroSDHD card that shipped with my EVO. I encountered sloooow transfer rates and many of the folders just refused to be copied to the folder I had created on my PC for this purpose. Later, it occurred to me that the problems I am about to outline probably had already begun to manifest themselves.
A couple of days later, my phone indicated that my sd card was not installed. I powered down, pulled the battery, pulled then reinserted the card. All seemed well but when I attempted to once again backup the card's contents to a PC folder I had the same problems as before. This happened again over a week's time and a few days after that my sd card completely failed. Fortunately, my contacts and pictures are continuously backed up using a 3rd party app. That still leaves me with problems related to the apps and everything else on my sd card.
Obviously, I need to buy a new card. I am considering either a 16GB or 32GB Class 10 card. Once I acquire the replacement card, what procedure should I follow considering that I don't have a card from which I can transfer anything? Also, any advice regarding backups will be greatly appreciated!
