Today facebook launched an updated Facebook app for Android. It's now quicker and easier to view photos, get messages and navigate around the app.

Photos get better

Photos and albums are up to two times faster than the previous Android app. It's also easier to share photos, view comments and edit captions on the go.

Messages on top
Your messages and notifications are now at the top of your screen. You can respond to friends and stay updated without leaving the page you're on.

Did they fix the fact that the FB takes over the contact/people list? That is irritating enough that I took off as much of FB as I could from the phone. Unfortunately, I am unable to totally remove FB from my Evo. Pretty creepy.

FB hasn't taken over my contact list,    that is your settings.

I love the new FB app so far,  much nicer to use and a very easy UI.

I am interested in how that is "my setting" when I installed it and did not change nor alter anything from the install. I am also interested in if you are able to uninstall FB from your Evo.

1. Facebook, Settings, Don't sync contacts.
2. Menu, Settings, Account & Sync, Facebook, uncheck Sync.
3. People, Menu, View, uncheck Facebook.
4. Read manual and/or do forum search.

And no, you cannot uninstallin FB from your Evo without rooting it.
