Car broken into for nothing but my Evo... FOR REAL??????????

So, yeah, my car got broken into just to steal my Evo... I went into starbucks to get coffee and in the 10 mins i was gone, my glass was shattered, and my phone... GONE.. they left my wallet (which had money) and my friend's iphone 3gs.. really... COME ON they couldnt have taken everything??? IM SO UPSET, the phone was only 3 days old... Went to sprint to get everything locked and tracked.. the gps said it was only 3 blocks from where my car was broken into.. but couldnt give me an exact address, obviously.. ANYWAY went to sprint to get the insurance claim started, but since the phone is backstocked, does ANYONE know how long its going to take to get a phone backstocked everywhere? someone, please, help me, so i can figure out how long i will be out of a phone???

 

since the glass is broken. logic would dictate the door was locked.

unlocked door. open door. steal what you want.
locked door. break glass. open door. steal what you want.

it's cheaper  to just leave the damn door unlocked. no mess to clean up and no broken windows to replace.

Wouldnt sprint know if they try to activate this phone? it will be basically unusable unless they flash it to MetroPCS or something like that...

I don't mean to be an ass.....but who the hell leaves their phone in their car??  I hope you and your friend didn't leave your phones in plain sight (ie. on the seat or the dash)....not that it matters at this point.  But this is 2010, and people unfortunately have to take EXTRA precautions in keeping what's rightfully theirs.  People will break into your car for a stick of gum nowadays, much less the hottest phone on the market right now.

I do find it funny that the thief left the iphone behind.  

I don't know how that insurance thing works....but for your sake I hope its not too long before you get another one.  I'd say go back to wherever you bought it the first time and see when they'll be expecting a new shipment.

Actually, the cheapest option is to take the phone with you...had to say that...but I get it, I leave mine in the car too. Sucks that people have to steal.

i beleive teh white one is scheduled for june 11. at bestbuy.

 you need to call up sprint stores, radioshack. and bestbuy. find out when the next shipment is. specially with sprint.

the news is out. apple sold 1.7 mill POS's in 3 days. meanwhile, sprint is struggling with sell 200,000 going on week 4 now. what a joke.

i've been a loyal sprint customer for 10 years now. but the hottest item on teh planet and they can't sell the damn thing. and this isn't the first time this has happened.

Wow that really sucks to hear, especially now that it's backordered.   I never leave anything in my truck nowadays, people really suck.  One good thing is even if I did leave something in the truck you wouldn't be able to see even in the daytime because the tint is so dark.  I'm not sure if that is a good thing or bad.  Did you not have Sprint before you got the EVO?  I have my wife's old Samsung M520 I'll sell ya if you want it.  

Just activate one of your old phones so at least you have something to use until the EVO is back in stock.
