How did you clean it? My EVO took a swim in the ocean and I can't revive it. I put it in rice for 4 days and it still won't power on. I took it apart this morning, but don't know what to clean? I took the 6 T5 screws out and took the cover off. I'm now staring at the circuits. Help please?
It's more likely to recover a phone that got dunked in fresh water, than salt water, which is pretty much a death sentence. Pure water doesn't have the chemicals found in salt water, and those chemicals toxins, include heavy metals which are most likely the cause for failure, making it un-recoverable.
The Rice trick may or may not work, I've never tried it myself yet. But, If I ever dunk one in salt water (AKA sea water), I'd pull the battery immediately, and dunk in in fresh water to flush the salt water contamination away, before trying the rice trick. Most likely it will still require replacement of the LCD, touch screen & camera, which are the most susceptible to damage. And do a real good chemical clean job on they're connectors. Once exposed to salt water, they start to oxidize rapidly.
There's my take on it, but, more ideas are out there.
