Hi Everyone, I'm New to the site so I apologies if some of my questions are very newby-ish!

Anyway I just got my Evo Friday when it came out, My Question is about Flash Flayer. First of all do our Evo's Have Flash Player? For Example, I was on LAKERS.com to check out some videos and It gave me a Yellow (!) Quotation Mark Error mesg. so it didnt play. I did a search on the Forums and I read about the Froyo but didnt our Evo's Come with Android 2.2 (Froyo) to play Flash? Basically Is it Possible to Play Videos that run Flash on our EVO's? Do I have to use a different Browser? Is it even possible to make it work?
Also is there going to be an update on our EVO's soon that will make Flash work?

Sorry for the long write up and if some of the questions are very Newby-ish....

Replies will be very much appreciated!

Thank you all!

We are all waiting for the Froyo update to enable flash, it is probably going to take a few months.  Some people rooted their evo's and installed it early.

Also, try using Dolphin HD web browser.  I wasn't having much luck getting any Flash content to work correctly in the built in web browser, but after I installed Dolphin, Flash sites started to work- much to my amazement.

There's some stuff I can't get to work right, like live Flash streams, but VOD streams and other web page animations seem to work great.

Oh ok. I'll definitely try the Dolphin out. Thanks for your reply.

I just watched some movies on Skyfire.  It works but not on all videos.  Not bad though while we wait for Froyo.

EDIT: Skyfire has been reviewed here for its Flash capabilities.  It doesn't work all the time but I just watched The Karate Kid on it and it worked well

I'm using Dolphin HD now and most Flash sites still are not working. Do you think SkyFire is better then Dolphin when it comes to playing Flash? I also just Rooted my evo so shouldn't Flash be working?

The Evo 4G has flash lite, which is good for, well, nothing much. Rooting your phone does not enable flash. Until the Evo is upgraded to 2.2/Froyo or a Rom comes out that simulates 2.2, you will not be able to play flash outright.

I use Skyfire and it plays a lot of flash files - not all. After the pages loads in Skyfire, tap the screen and a menu bar will popup at the bottom, if Video is highlighted, then there is video on the page that Skyfire can play. I like it over Dolphin because I have never been able to get Dolphin to play any video.

I have to disagree with that.  Flash lite works very well for me.  There are some sites that it doesn't work on, but for the most part, it's pretty good.
