An interesting read.  If Google gives in to the developers, too far, they will lose customers.  With the new 15 minute trial period, I'm trying to refrain from getting any pay apps, except if they have a long list of stellar reviews.  If they start selling half-apps that have a bunch of add-ons to buy, I'll stop getting anything but free apps.

Yup, same here. I don't mind paying for a good, quality app with features I want/need, but I'm already not getting apps with the 15 minute trial period unless there's a free version to try first or are recommended by people I know and whose opinions I trust. They already have a lot of apps that have free gimped versions. Not gonna buy any in the future if they force devs to gimp them even further.

Its cool though, the more they force crap like this, the more people will turn to alternative markets to buy and sell apps.

I did the search and this is as close I could find  my market issue. I have been trying to get the new market update all this Time and Google has never contacted me back about how I can update. My other half got the Nexus S 4G I'm so Jealous. It is so much nicer than my Ego 4  G, anyway after helping to set it up the new market was there instantly and I realized I still had the older version. Anyone have a clue as to how i can update the to the newest version of Google market? Thanks

There's a thread in the apps section with a file you can download to install it manually. Otherwise, its just a typical rollout that may take some people longer to get than others.

My wife has the new Market on her Optimus S as well as Gingerbread.  I prefer the simplicity of the old Market.  New one is to busy for me.

I stopped downloading any apps (free or otherwise) a long time ago. I got everything I need in less than 80 apps. The can do whatever the hell they want with the Market since I don't plan on getting anymore, especially if I have to pay for them.

Considering it still hadn't been "rolled out" to me, yet, I installed it manually.  While I don't chase new apps as I once did, I have no problems with the new version.  It takes a tad more time to load and the added complexity might slow you down a bit, but there's more to look at.
