I want to backup my personal contacts but I am unclear as to how to do this.
I though I read someone mentioned HTC Sync, but when I go to the HTC site, I can only find a upgrade and not the actual program.
Is HTC Sync the program I want and if so, where do I download from? (Windows format).

HTC works for s*** for backing up contacts. This is what I did today.
Tap people icon> import/export to SD card> tap export to sd card. It will assign a name for the backup file.
Then mount phone as drive mode.  On your laptop, go to computer >external disk drive >then right click on the backup file >send to (whatever place you want) I sent to my documents. And thats it. The backup file with all your contcts is in your laptop drive.
I had to do this today because my wife got her evo today and had to backup all  her SMS's and contacts. later synced all flawlessly to her new evo.
BTW, I used a neat program from the market to backup the text messages. It is called SMS backup and restore. It was easy and worked great. I plan to donate to the developer. I think these guys deserve donation if they write a good, usefull program. We need to support
them if we want more good stuff put out.

mimeis thank you so much!  I have been trying to no avail until i read your post.  I really don't even need to backup to my computer just the sd card since it follows me from phone to phone.  Simple and easy that what i like   Tongue  thanks again
