Hey all,

So my phone was working fine until last week.  I tried to connect to 4g (where they don't have it, just to see) but when I turned that off I haven't been able to connect to the 3g network anymore.  I know it's available cause I have friends use it sitting next to me.  I can connect/use the Wifi at home with no problem, but my phone doesn't even try to connect to 3g.  Also the battery has been dying a lot quicker since this happened.  Anyone have any idea why this might be?  You can't turn 3g off or anything correct?

Let me know, it's getting pretty annoying paying for internet that I can't use!  Or having a fairly worthless phone unless Wifi is around...

Thanks

I had that happen to me once after trying to connect to 4G.  What I did was actually turn on airplane mode, then turn it off again.  Have you done a batter pull yet?  How about updating the PRL?

Airplane mode isn't on (or not checked at least)...I have taken the battery out and restarted the phone more than once (because it was going slow)...currently attempting to update PRLs; do I need to be connected to the internet for that (via Wifi)?

Anyone with other suggestions?  I have a feeling the PRL update isn't going to do it.

What I mean is to turn airplane mode on, then turn it back off again.  Also, check to make sure that mobile network is checked under menu-settings-wireless & networks.

Gotcha...well just tried to turn on/off airplane mode, got nothing.  The wireless network box is checked, but it says it can't find anything.

Just tried updating PRL and profile...neither worked.

When you say wireless network, do you mean wifi?  I am talking about the one that says mobile network.

Definitely call Sprint then...they should be able to fix the issue.

From what I've heard their "fix" is a hard reset.  I read some other forums and it seems that the Sprint to Evo data has been pretty sketch all over the mid-west region (where I'm located).  Just going to try to wait it out for a bit, but if it doesn't start working by the end of this week I'm bitching to Sprint and getting some damn refunds on my bill.

Thanks for the help though, I'll try to update the profile/PRL later when I get home and see if that helps at all.
