Not sure if this is supposed to happen with this phone or if its particularly just mine but when I charge my phone it heats up a lot. Does anyone else have this issue?

Depends on your definition of hot cause mine does get somewhat warm. Most of the time the phone is warm just when it is sitting in my pocket!

I too have an overheating problem.
When i put my phone from my pocket in to my backpack yesterday, it got EXTREMELY hot after 10 minutes. I'm glad i didnt leave it in there for more than that.
When I got back to my car, i put it in front of my AC vent to cool it back down.
It seems to do it when there is a lack of signal from what i've read on the Android forum, because it did it today when i went into a building and had it in my shirt pocket as well.

My evo gets pretty warm while I charge it. I have a habit of keeping my phone under the pillow next to me. I found that it really got hot if I left it under the pillow. It's not as bad when I leave it out. It just feels warm. It also gets warm when I use it for an extended period of time, which is most of the time.

I have constant problems with my Evo overheating. I'm an over the road truck driver and I use the google gps with the phone plugged in and hot spot running. It will overheat 5 or 6 times a day until I unplug it and put it infront of the air conditioner for about 5 min. By overheating I mean the indicator light will start flashing green/amber, and my battery indicator states overheated. This overheating also greatly decreases the battery charge. Any one with any helpful ideas I'd love to hear from you.

Mine gets hot but never overheats.
Stew, they make a phone holder that will clip to the vents. You might get one of them and let the AC blow on it all the time.

I had the same overheating problem until I read the battery saving tips in this forum. I have a a button that turns off that 3g from searching for signal.

The phone holder for the air vent has helped, for now. It will probably make things worse in the winter though when I'm running heat.

So has anyone resolved this issue or is this still happening? And do we know yet if this is a problem for all Evos or a defect? I’m trying to get my Evo exchanged for a new one since it’s only been 2 weeks since I first got it but everyone’s still sold out.
