So it seems that some recent contacts I've added show up in the dialer, but not in the people app. As such, unless I'm wrong, because they're not in the people app, they won't sync with my google contacts. What the heck am I doing wrong here?

People>Menu>View check Auto show Gmail contacts and/or Phone contacts. And on the Gmail website, they get listed under Other Contacts. You can just click the box next to them on the website and change the Group setting to My Contacts.

They still aren't showing up. Not in the people app, nor in my "other contacts" list in google.

Not sure what to tell you then. How did you add them?

Just through the dialer, usually. I don't understand why this wouldn't work.

It should since the phone's dialer is tied into the people app. They just might not be showing up as you think they should.

Pull up your Search People app and search for them. If they are listed, you can scroll down and see which group they are listed under.

They still aren't showing up. Not in the people app, nor in my "other contacts" list in google.

Go to the people app and hit MENU->View. Make sure all the groups are checked (there should be at least two: Google and Phone).

When I first got my phone, my daughter started adding contacts for me. I wasn't aware of the multiple groups yet, so I too was very confused when I didn't see the new contacts in Google, even though I could see the Google contacts on the phone. Ultimately, I had to manually move those contacts over to the Google group and then everything was good.

Have you performed a sync since adding the new contacts?
