Using pliers to squeeze superglue doesn't end well

Just wanted to tack this up as a sticky so it's visible for all us Evo & Airave owners, especially since there have been multiple questions about it now.

There is a known issue with the way the Airave handles locations. I got that straight from Airave tech support. So when in range of your Airave, it may not show the correct location for your weather. For instance, I live 70 miles from Charlotte, NC. However the Airave has my Evo convinced I'm in Huntersville, NC just outside Charlotte, so my weather shows for Charlotte, NC.

There currently is no known fix. As soon as you leave the range of your Airave, it will function normally after the next scheduled update. If you want to refresh it faster, just do a manual refresh.

just another FYI from what I've read around here concerning this issue.

EVEN if you do not have an airave sometimes people are clueless that they like to affect you too Tongue you can end up being in range of an unrestricted airave which will cause this issue also.

I also was told that the stock weather clock/weather app does not update as well as the addon weather clocks and weather apps do.

Ah ok. I wondered why the location was all messed up when I am at home. THanks for clearing that up.  One more issue though.  THis last week every night around midnight or a bit after I lose connection to all my games. The only way to fix it is to turn the phone off and back on. Everything else works fine. I can get email,I can text and  I  can make calls.  Anyone have the same problem?  If someone says it has to do with my airrave I am throwing it out. LOL.

I haven't had any issues like that from my Airave, but then I'm on wifi when I'm at home since the Airave doesn't support actual 3G.

I would look first at any apps recently installed, or any profile apps you may have that could be going haywire. I know of quite a few forum members with Airave's, and they haven't noticed this issue. Just out of curiosity, do you have the original Airave or the new 2.0 I'm hearing is out now?

The difference for me is huge. Without it, we can't use our phones at all. If we hold a connection long enough to actually dial out, it drops after the first 1/2 ring. With it, we have full bars and not a problem in the world.

One thing to check is where it's located at. If it's a decent distance from you, or on a different floor (upstairs/downstairs) it does drop off somewhat sharply. It's best to have it centered where you (usually) make most of your calls.

How is your internet service? We've had issues with it on the rare occasion our net gets funky. If yours is fine, I'd call Airave tech support. It's a separate number from Sprint, but should be included with the Airave paperwork you got when you received it. It's always possible you got a dud. Sad

Hello,
I actually started a Thread about this recently as I live on Siesta Key which is a Barrier Island on the Gulf of Mexico 70 Miles South of Tampa.  However, my Airrave kept on giving the Location as De Land, FL which is around 200 Miles away and close to the Atlantic Ocean all the way across the Peninsula.

What I have found is that unplugging the GPS Antenna has resulted in giving me the proper Location.  I have no idea why this would be the case, but amazingly it has resulted in me getting the proper Location.
Cheers,
JJ

We live up on a hill near Los Angeles, and have no reception with any carriers. With the AirRave, we have five bars. It is phenomenal. Sprint was awesome getting it to us (free), and after a few reminder calls from me, they stopped charging us for it.
It does list our location as another part of LA, but I think that's the tower it honed in on. Small price to pay, as far as I'm concerned.
