Same thing happened to me.  Seemed to be after the update (1.47...), but I'm not positive.  I get a missed call, but then I have to manually go into the voicemail (pressing "1" on the keypad) in order to find out if I have any messages.

Any help?

Just out of curiosity, do you have the app on your screen? Or the widget? I'm thinking the widget might update with a number, but not the app icon. Trying to get my equal half to leave me a voicemail to test them out. Dang cordless battery is dead. heh

And btw, welcome to both of you! Smiley I just noticed these were your first forum posts! Smiley Don't forget to introduce yourselves so we can all say hi! Smiley

Edit:
Ok, this issue is confirmed. I left myself a little message. Waited about a half hour, and when nothing showed up, I went into my voicemail. And suprise, there was another new message from June 30th that I didn't even know I had. It's been there 9 days with no notification. Something is definitely up.

Going to poke around a bit and if that fails call Sprint. I do know it WAS working. I've gotten visual voicemails in the past. But based on the date of the undelivered voicemail, I'm thinking something in the patch may have messed with it. I updated on June 28th, and prior to that I was getting my voicemails.

Update #2: Going to call Sprint as soon as my landline charges enough to make it through the call. heh I can't find any reason for it to have stopped working. I've got all my background syncs on, etc. I thought there might be an outside chance having mobile data off would be the culprit, but turning it on and making a second test call didn't work either. Joy. Sad

Update #3: Called Sprint and got someone who really didn't seem to know what they were doing. She got me locked out of my voicemail entirely. Smiley Gonna call back in a second. heh Just wanted to let interested parties know I'm working on it! Smiley

Other mods, I know this is a double post, but my last one was so crowded I didn't want the fix to get lost in my wordiness.  Tongue

***Fix that works, yay!***

1. Ok, open your voicemail program, it will likely show the "No voicemails" screen.
2. Hit Menu>compose then click in the "To" field at the top to bring up your keyboard.
3. Type this exactly: activate@vvm.sprint.com
4. Hit record, then hit stop.
5. Hit send.

My voicemails I'd been leaving myself all morning to test flooded in within 5 seconds, and the voicemail icon is showing the number of voicemails as well.

Let me know if this doesn't resolve your issue.

Mine is working fine EXCEPT I no longer get the number next to the voicemail icon on the screen.  I believe this stopped even before the update.  I tried the fix and it didnt change that.  I guess I could remove the icon and put it back again...

I just did a test that should fix it for you. Make sure you're using the voicemail widget, not the voicemail app icon. I put both on my screen and left another test voicemail. The widget shows the voicemail number, the app doesn't.

Thanks Zeria.  Removing the icon and then re-adding the widget fixed it.  I think I had the widget all along, but it just decided to stop working at some point.  Wasnt a big deal cause I still had the notification at the top, but still nice to have it fixed.

You're welcome. Smiley It may have been bugged for you by the patch. I know several of us had our voicemail widget go all wonky and we had to remove and re-add it. Not sure if you had to as well. If not, that may have been the issue.

I just had this same problem and I can confirm that this worked for me. I do believe the last update somehow turned this off.

I thought initially it was the update as well. However my equal half's Evo was updated at the same time as mine and his never had a problem. Seems to be just a freak of nature occurrence from what I can tell. :/ Can't seem to find any pattern or reason for it.

By the way, glad it worked for you! Smiley

You're most welcome! Smiley And actually, thank you as well! If ya'll hadn't posted your issue I'm not sure how long I'd have gone without realizing I had a problem with mine as well!

Zera, when my update took place, it messed up the icon/app... on my home screen where voice mail was located. I believe Strings did the same thing. Perhaps thats the common thread. That is, if your update messed with your voice mail app/wiget on your home page.

It messed up the widget for mine and Ruvaril's also. However his vvm didn't get messed up. He just had to replace the widget. I had that thought as well, but when his was fine, I had to concede defeat on that theory. heh

I had to just come to the conclusion it was a crapshoot if it messed it up or not. Our Evo's are idential and were updated at the same time and had the same widget issues. The only difference is mine is the 002 build and his is the 003. However I don't think that would really have anything to do with it since the build version is supposedly only about the screen difference.

I tried the fix... and the message to "activate@vvm.sprint.com" is waiting to send.  It says there is a delay in setting up my voicemail and my message will be sent as soon as this step is complete.  I thought that I had set everything up... any suggestions?  My apologies in advance if this is something super easy I've just blanked on... I've been known to do that!   Cool

Thank you!
