Hello. I am a current Pre owner, and have begun thinking about making the switch to the Evo. My questions are: I saw an article reporting that there are 2 different screens for this phone. What does that mean, is one better, and how do you know what you are getting?

Second, has anyone encountered problems with having a virtual keyboard as opposed to a real keyboard. Not a deal breaker for me, and I saw the newer phone with the slide out keyboard.....Seems fatter and a bit bulky. Also want to avoid the sliding part, my Pre has become "loose" in that department.

Did most purchases go thru a Sprint store, Best Buy, or Radio Shack? I see that Radio Shack is offering an INSTANT rebate as opposed to mailing it in. And Best Buy has the new White Evo..Though it isn't all white as I presumed.

Thank for the input before I pull the plug.

welcome!

about the screen... there are 2 manufacturers, there is really no difference... I have looked at both side by side and i couldnt tell them apart. I think that one of the differences is when changing the brightness level, one screen dims to the new level vs just changing automatically like one of those 3 brightness level lightbulbs used in night stand lamps...

Keyboard is awesome... it does take some time to get used to it... for me it was about a week... also in this forum we have a full working version of the swype keyboard that for most, its the keyboard of choice.

lastly, i recommend to go with best buy, you dont have to deal with mail in rebates and the employees tend to be more knowledgeable than sprints and radio shack.  But since the phone is in such a high demand. Try getting it from whichever store you can.

Hope you see you fully converted soon... you wont regret it!
