I'm a rookie when it comes to rooting, having only just recently done it on my evo, but I have some questions regarding kernels.

Can I flash one to my evo without changing my froyo? I ask because I am interested in overclocking my evo but I don't want to lose my 4g capability which is why I haven't flashed a rom yet.

Reading the stickied threads in the rooting forum, as well as doing a search will help answer your question.

hello, im looking for a particular kernal

2.6.32.15-King-havs-ocuverik@ubuntu #9

is there somewhere where i can get it? ive searched the web for 2 days now with no luck.
im running koni's elite series 2 rom and i want to OC the processor, based on my research i have found that this kernel works best for that. but i could be wrong. any suggestions?
thanks

Then you must be looking for another kernel because that is the only #9 kings kernel.
I have used it before, when you flash it and check it under your hardware, it will have
"ubuntu" just as you have stated. Click on it for download. It will show the exact same #'s you have there.

Its an old kernel and also a havs kernel. Which means when you OC or UC with it using SetCpu you can't use profiles.
I am not a fan of setcpu, overclocking or underclocking and don't advise it at all unless you are very aware of what you are doing. You can toast your phone pretty quickly doing either one to extremes. In my opinion, any real differences and still having a stable phone are negligable...
In short, I doubt you will be able to tell a difference. Some people swear by it. I'm skeptical.
