I think you need to read the guide more carefully.

Well I'm running windows and in the guid for dummies the link to the page to install unrevoked says to install unrEVOked modified USB driver if you are running windows.

I have tried it with that driver installed, with out it, with sync with you sync  No matter what I still get unrevoked now telling me to plug in the phone when it is plugged in.

The funny thing is this is not what is bothering me.  What is driving me nuts is what happend to my md5 file in my nand back up of the stock sense.

I'm at a complete loss in how to help you because I have no idea what you did to get to where you are or what you've done to try and fix it.

Guess I don't get it either. If you installed drivers to begin with when you rooted, they are still there. You shouldn't have to reinstall them. Assuming you used Unrevoked.
Have you turned off your virus software...

I have the virus software off on both computers I have tried this on.  On the Vista computer the Hboot drivers were installed and I get the device not connected on that one.  On the one with XP I did everything like was in the guide and like I have done in the past.  When I went to root I got the same message.  I'm wondering if when I unrooted with the PC36IMG.zip if that has something to do with this.

EDIT:  I should be kicked and beat up.  I was only marking the install from other sources on my evo.  I forgot about the debugging option.  This is the thrid time I have done this and the first time I had issues with it.
