I don't have 4G yet the only time I get to use it is when I go visit my brother in Cincinnati (~20 mi), but on the coverage map 4G is right out side my city hopefully it encompasses me soon. It's only about 5 mi away now.

I don't have 4G and don't expect it anytime before the end of this decade. That doesn't prevent me from fully using my Evo. Not sure why you can't.

Yeah they said at the sprint store it would be in Lincoln first of this year still nothing.

I want 4G so I can really use the hotspot. 3G is to slow for me.

Sales people tell you what you want to hear so they can sell you stuff. If its not listed on the Sprint website, don't believe it.

Meh. Its over-rated. My first modem was a 300 baud. Now THAT was slow. lol Even 3G is blazingly fast in comparison. All 4G does is allow the downloading of porn faster at the cost of higher battery drain. Wink

Really? How is the 3g coverage in your area? Have you tried this to improve it:
1. ##3282#
2. Select Edit
3. Enter MSL
4. Select Data Profile
5. Press Menu
6. Select restore

No you aren't. The $10 fee isn't a 4G fee. And we all pay the $10 regardless of whether or not we have 4G access.

While 4G has enough bandwidth( amount of information you can send and/or receive at one time expressed as Mbs or kbs) latency is the time it takes that information to get to where it is being sent and back expressed in milliseconds the average home connect usually has a latency of less then 50 ms, due to cell signal latency on phones are usually over 100 ms and I have seen as high as 400 ms. This makes any cellular based signal bad for gaming. When using the internet for browsing or downloading files latency isn't a big factor, but gaming the data is time sensitive so you get lag.

i wasn't paying it before i purchased a 4G phone, even though i had a "smartphone" before. i'm pretty sure it's the reason even if they don't cop to it. FWIW i love the phone, best i've ever had but it's not at its full capability as of now. sorry, it's a sticking point for me at this time. i've been a sprint customer for over a decade and they've been great so far. i just hope they continue in that direction.
