Nope, its not. Its a premium data fee because they know that people with this phone are going to be using it a lot more than most people use phones with just texting and basic internet stuff. Additionally, ALL smart phones on Sprint will be paying the $10 fee (if they aren't already, not sure when they were starting it) because of increased usage.

i wasn't paying it before i purchased a 4G phone, even though i had a "smartphone" before. i'm pretty sure it's the reason even if they don't cop to it. Please keep up with what Sprint is doing before making such statements. Sprint will now be charging ALL accounts with an active smartphone a $10 Premium Data fee, regardless of whether the phone is 4g capable or not. The $10 is to keep our data plan TRULY unlimited, not "unlimited" in title only (i.e. unlimited until you hit 2-5gb) like the other companies.

Clearly I hit a nerve here. I enjoy my phone, get it? Just wanted to know if anyone had some news about 4G in my area. Never seen such snippy attitude from a forum mod in my life. Enjoy your place here, I'm moving on.

We do already have multiple threads on the subject, and it has been said many times, in many threads, on many different forums, what the charge is for. They say we have 4G here in Tampa, but it's so spotty, it's useless. Just saying that it will be a awhile until it's as reliable as 3G.

I am in NH and we do not have 4G. Is there any way of finding out when 4G will come?

Sprint has a testing tower for 4G in north Lincoln. I got full bars on 20th And Cornhusker. 7MB down And 1.5MB up
