So I'm coming up on my eligibility for the $150 upgrade on December 1st but I honestly love my Evo and can't think of any other phone I would want to upgrade to. However, I do have an insanely huge crack going down the middle of my screen and have postponed going through insurance and paying the $100 deductible knowing that my upgrade is coming up in December. So my question is, does anyone know if it is possible to use the upgrade money towards a new Evo? I don't necessarily want to pay the deductible for a refurbished phone when I can get a new phone.

I was searching the forums for a similar topic.  From what I can understand, it would be easier to extend your contract two years and "buy" another Evo.  The Sprint website has Evos for $99 with the two year extension/renewal.  If you're going to pay $100 deductible and chance a refurb, you might as well get a brand new one for a buck less.

I should probably call or head down to the Sprint store and ask them if it's even possible to do that.

I found my answer. I was actually going to purchase a new EVO with my upgrade and pay $100 instead of paying the $100 deductible to get a refurbished phone. But when I went into Best Buy, they were out of EVOs and had the Epic Touch on sale so I got that phone instead. So now I'm trying to learn more about the Epic Touch but their forum isn't as awesome as this one!
