having an issue.. I can't pay my first bill.. I tried online and it said it was declined I did the *2 and it said the same thing.. I know I have enough in my account.

Is paying with bank account instant or does it take a few days?

I pay my bill exclusively online, and I always have confirmation in a matter of minutes.  You might want to call and talk to an actual person since this is your first bill.  There might be a kink that needs ironing out.

I've been a 8+ year sprint customer, well 3 of those years was nextel. I hear all this talk about bad customer service, but not once have I encountered bad customer service. I've had issues with my bill but has always gotten fixed. Yes Sprint doesn't have a closet assortment of phones like ATT and Verizon, but who's plans are less expensive? Which carrier probably has the best phone out right now? Thats right Sprint. If it wasn't for the iphone, ATT wouldn't be where its at today. Verizon just has a great marketing department, their commercials are/were catchy. Now verizon is the main sponser for the NFL this season, which Sprint gave up, but thats fine. Sprint gives perks to its loyal customers, such as upgrade discount after only a year. I purchased the EVO in July, I had also purchased the OVERDRIVE in February. Because I wanted to utilize the EVO hotspot service they allowed me to break my OVERDRIVE contract with a 60% premiere customer discount on the ETF. which saves me $$$ vs paying the OVERDRIVE service for the next 2 years ($60/month). Sprint has always been good to me.

Sprint is just strolling along not having to put itself on a pedastal. The iphone and its outragous data plan will eventually get tired, and verizons marketing dept will get boring. Sprint will still be strolling along.............

I have a 3g aircard/mobile data contract (I could use the overdrive if I wanted) how did you get them to let you drop the overdrive contract??? That's what I want to do so I can switch to the EVO hotspot service.

I am surprised they would let you do that, they are losing money by letting you break your OD contract @ $60/month vs $30/month for EVO hotspot. Did you have to pay the contract cancellation penalty?

I'm going to call tomorrow because after trying 4 times I saw the amount taken out but my bank (HSBC) does not show transactions right away like my old bank (BoFA) so not sure what it is.

One reason why it may be showing as pending (which is what it's likely showing rather than an actual withdrawl where they send the cash to Sprint) is if the billing information for your credit/debit card doesn't match your Sprint billing address. Sounds weird I know, but if the two don't match, it can cause issues in the automated system because it assumes the account zip code for the card zip code. If they don't match, it will decline on Sprint's end, not your bank's end, which is why it shows pending at the bank but declined by Sprint. Definitely call them and have them process it manually, and/or check that your Sprint account has the proper information and no typo's in the zip code.

The hold on the funds from the failed attempts should be released back to you in roughly 5 business days.

I would not have switched from Verizon, had it not been for the Evo. That being said, I am glad that I did. The unlimited mobile to ANY network mobile (98% of my calls are mobile to mobile) minutes means I can choose the lowest anytime minute plan (I used 48 of my anytime minutes last month). The unlimited data and text means I can use PDANet to teather my work computer and get 4G and a fully charged phone. With unlimited roaming on Verizon, for all intents and purposes, their network is my network... Getting Verizon's nework at Sprint's prices   ***SWEET***

It does take several days for a new bank account to have a payment charged the first time. A verification is basically sent to the bank to make sure the account is valid first. After that initial set up period, all future payments will be posted right away to your Sprint account.
2 things. In the future, if you ever want to set up or change to another bank account, and you need it to post right away, call finance. They can change the set up status from pending to active, and take an immediate payment. 2) As a reminder, even though a check payment posts right away to the Sprint account, if your bank does not participate in demand payment, Sprint has to actually send a physical check to your bank. This could take 3-5 days to actually post to your checking account but is still posted right away to the Sprint account

i never understood why sprint was hated.....i had sprint when there wasnt many options.....then i went to nextel when they first showed up for the direct connect (great for work)......sprint sucked up nextel which was good for me because now i had 2-way plus reliable phone service.....during and after hurricane katrina sprint/nextel phones were the only providers that still half-way worked......freind has verizon and was recently trying to get me to switch.....once we discussed his cost vs mine for unlimted plans he considered switching to sprint......and well then there is the EVO 4g.......lol

That actually reminds me, I was doing collections for Sprint/Nextel after Katrina, and they literally bent over backwards trying to help out. They suspended suspensions for non-payment, and even gave up to 3 months credit while allowing some calls to not use minutes, etc. I was completely impressed at how far they went to help out. I don't remember reading anything about Verizon or AT&T doing anything remotely similar.

I recently switched from AT&T to get an EVO and am very pleased with Sprint. We do quite a bit of traveling and calls data and messaging have been just great. I had people tell me that I would regret the change. I don't! Grin

My only complaint is paying for 4G and not having it and having programs installed taking up space that I can not remove. Unless I root the phone which I don't really see a need to do. Angry

sprint has come a LONG way. i've had them for 13 years. i try other carriers when it's time for a new phone but always go back to sprint. NO ONE beats there prices.

verizon is way overrated and WAY overpriced just to get HALF what i get with sprint. i even tried there storm 2 when it was time for a new phone. the storm2 is 3g but very very slow on the internet. and very slow when it was tethered.  my 4 year old sprint phone ran circles around it when tethered to my pc. EVDO DIDN'T EVEN EXIST WHEN THAT PHONE WAS SOLD. but it beat the pants off a brand new 3g phone.

verizons response to the FCC when questioned why it's pricing was the highest. *we need the fees to cover the cost of advertising*

corporate discount. WHAT A JOKE. my sons mom has verizon through home depot. she  has no mobile to mobile to any carrier. has no internet. has no gps. limited text message.  offpeak don't start till 9pm. and verizon controls the phone. and installs whatever they want while your sleeping. (BING ANYONE).  she pays more then I do for sprint. and i have my own control over my phone.

i was paying 69.99 (roughly 85 after tax) with ATT using a craptastic feature phone (eternity).

now i'm paying 130 (taxes included) for 3 smartphones (my evo, my intercept, my dad's moment).  i think the right decision was made.

as far as customer service?  Sprint is not on the same level as ATT...  they are above and beyond them.  hell, i had the Moment when it first came out (last November) so i wasn't supposed to be eligible for an upgrade till this November.  long story short, i've almost had my Evo a week now.  you do the math on how far they moved my upgrade to keep me happy.

as far as cellular coverage?  not a difference.  at all.
