Hello fellow future EVO owners!  So excited for this Friday!

A quick question that I've not been able to confirm on any of the message boards.
Will the EVO work overseas (not Japan/China)?

Not that I am aware of.  Could you be more specific as to where?

Welcome to the forum by the way.

lol maybe if you're connected to WiFi and you use a Voip app... I think Android has one on their market called  Sipdroid but don't take my word for it.

It won't work outside the states unless is use with a wifi connection. If skype ,qik allow us to use their service with wifi then you might be able to place calls

Will it work overseas... no

To answer the question in your title... yes, but you probably have to call sprint to enable international calling.

EDIT: i just saw at the HTC website that they posted this info as part of the EVO 4G specs

Can I make and receive calls outside the US and Canada?

International roaming allows you to make and receive calls while outside the US and Canada in most countries. For GSM carriers, the phone has 900mhz & 1800mhz frequencies. For CDMA carrier's phones, these must have an alternate 900mhz & 1800mhz GSM chipset also built in. All calls made and received while abroad usually incur additional per minute charges. Most carriers offer discounted international roaming as a plan feature for a nominal monthly fee.

Ok sorry, that was a poorly phrased question.   I think, however, you guys answered my query.  I was hoping that I could use the phone (EVO) in Europe, but it seems like that will not be possible unless I use a wifi/voip application.
