After my phone had numerous problems upon doing the 6/3 GB update (including the one mentioned below), I received a new phone with GB reinstalled. I have now updated the new phone to 4.24.651.1 and switched everything to it. All seems to be working ok (I still get the htc white screen every now and then). My problem is still that pictures taken with the flash suck. Seems as if the shutter and flash are not properly synchronized (flash delayed). Before the GB upgrade I had to be concerned that the flash was too bright, now the pictures are very dark. Anyone else experiencing this problem? Anyone found a fix?
Thanks,
I have figured this out. I was having the same issue as well so I started researching all the different features of the phone with regards to taking pictures (Metering, Flicker etc). Basically, what I discovered was that the Metering needs to be reset to Center. You may have yours on Average (at least I had mine on that). Average will take the average of all points of reference in the picture... thus if you are taking low light night pictures the whole picture overall becomes very dark. This used to actually help with night shots because as we all know the Evo used to be very bad at White Washing people in pictures. Since the Gingerbread update, they fixed it. The easiest way to get things back to working order is to go into your settings when you're taking a picture and clicking "Restore Defaults". Then you can go back and adjust from there.
Hope this helps you it appears to have helped me in my tests so far!
For reference here is a great explanation of metering...
