I recently read that since Gingerbread is not compatible with HTC sense and motorblur, it will never be made compatible. Couldn't an evo be set up with a different loader or something and then load gingerbread? Will 2.4 be compatible. Please enlighten me

I'm not sure where you read that but I haven't heard anything about Gingerbread not being compatible. There are some rooted phones who have gotten Gingerbread and I'm sure all EVOs will see it before summer. The later pages of this thread discusses Gingerbread. It definitely says we can expect it on the EVO, just not sure when.

Honeycomb is strictly tablets. Anyway I read a post about a guy who talked to HTC and Sprint representatives, and both blamed the inability to upgrade on eachother and HTC sense would have to be scrapped or rewritten

That is the thread I read. There are several more. This is annoying since Android GB has better window animations and OS optimizations. Is HTC just going to turn its back on something as big as gingerbread?

Or turn it's back on the Evo. If that's the case I am definitely getting the PSP phone. It comes with 2.3

Left4Evo,
I didn't see a post made by a representative. All the posts I read were by average users. It has already been stated by HTC and Google that Gingerbread would have to be made compatible with Sense and that will take time. But no one has said that it couldn't be done.
