If I never updated to the 3.70.651.1 software, do I need to do that in order to update to gingerbread?  I never updated since it seems there were so many glitches in that old update.  I am not rooted.

Thanks!

Will we be getting Sense 3.0 update with this?  Or we will be running Sense 2.0 with Android 2.3.

No word on Sense 3.0 that I've heard. And yes, you will likely need to update to the last update before getting the next update. That's usually how things work.

I have a question how on earth do i unroot my Evo. It has that wireless teethering application along with the superuser permissions. Some one else did the root for me? Please help out Asap want the new Gingerbread software. Cry
You don't have to unroot it, the htc sense gb update will break your root for you if that is what you want when it comes tomorrow. Just select system updates on the 3rd. When it shows up just install it. I wouldn't put sense on my phone for all of the tea in china but hey, have fun with it.

If I don't do the previous update before gingerbread comes out, do you know if it is still possible to access the old update or will I be SOL?  I am hesitant to start the update process until I hear some reviews about gingerbread.  What has your experience been with 3.70.651.1?  Also, do you know if you can uninstall these updates on an uprooted phone if you decide you don't like it?  Thanks in advance!

YES ITS TRUE, DO NOT ACCEPT AN OTA UPDATE IF YOUR PHONE IS ROOTED. IF YOU ARE ATTEMPTING TO UNROOT FOR WHATEVER REASON, START BY READING OUR ROOTING SECTION AND PLEASE KEEP ALL ROOTING-RELATED ISSUES THERE.

Thank you.

What about the manual update today, would that be safe for a rooted phone?

Just curious as to how bad Sprint screwed this one up.  You know they can't release an update without something wrong with it.  LOL
