***WARNING***STUPID QUESTION ALERT***

What app are you using for visual voicemail? Is it something I need to download from the market? Is it a standard program that I'm just not accessing yet?

It's just the stock app that comes on your Evo. All you do is tap on your voicemail icon>tap menu>tap settings>tap check for upgrade. And that's it.

I got the update. I just don't have "visual" voicemail. That is, unless I'm misunderstanding. I assumed "visual" meant that voicemail is translated into text and displayed on my phone. Am I incorrect? If not, how do I get that?

No it doesn't do anything fancy like that. I guess the name is kinda misleading. I think they call it that because you can actually see the name and do other things on the touch screen.

You are incorrect. It lists the callers on the screen so you can pick and choose which voicemails, if any, you want to listen to. Its the stock voicemail widget.

Thanks guys. I really would like to see a REAL visual voicemail app for Sprint. I know there are 3rd party apss. But, you have to re-route your voicemails, and then have them returned. I'd like something a bit simpler and more elegant.

In my experience, these do not work well.  It is hard enough to get speech to text to work when you have a perfect connection, let alone when it is going over a phone line and then translated.

I am having the same trouble with downloading and installing the new upgrade, so i did the battery pull. After I powered back up, I tried to Re-Download the update, and it got about a quarter of the way through the download process and I then got the same error message. I tried to clear out the notification but even though it says "optional" upgrade, its not going away. Any more ideas?
