Great news. Sounds like I'll be able to make calls while riding the motorcycle again.

The browser works pretty well already. Any ideas what "browser improvements" mean?

I believe the browser improvement means putting full Flash support on their browser so we can view flash videos like Hulu... hopefully.

From what I've heard, the browser in Froyo is blazingly faster than it is now. . . like, lots faster.

Check out the story I found on this one peeps!  Now we just need to figure out what their definition of "near future" is!

Voice dialing over bluetooth!!!  Is that native to Froyo, or is that an HTC sense add on?

Everything in Froyo is exponentially faster than 2.1.  I'm just hoping they mix in the fix to remove the 30fps cap as well.

How will this update work for us that rooted our phones?

I guess we'll still have to wait for the stable version of froyo that supports the use of camera.

But even on 2.1 it is really worth to have rooted my evo!

some apps require a rooted phone. i've only had my phone 3 days so i'm still learning. but it most defenitly is rooted.

there's an update that some claim won't allow rooting. and it won't install on rooted phones. but i don't know what the update consists of. other then my phone keeps wanting to download.

as for the blazing faster browser. i surely can't bitch about mine. and i don't have 4g yet. so i don't know how it can be any faster. the only time it's slow is when i'm in the mountains with no signal. but it still works. my curve wouldn't do anything but sit there.

The best thing that I saw so far about froyo is the ability to access your itunes and stream your music library without having to use the memory on your phone. That is amazing.

I feel dumb for asking.....but what does "rooting" your phone mean?  And why would you do it?

The browser is indeed faster. Although, with all the extra flash content that it loads with flash 10.1, it slows down dramatically. What we will end up needing is an ad blocker like my SRWare Iron browser on my pc has. That way it'll load the flash we do want, and not the garbage we don't.

Also, I heard that the cache fills up very quickly with full flash enabled.

I rooted my Evo to try out the leaked 2.2 but the problems with it made me decide to go back to 2.1.
