yes but i'm sure not everyone use their phone like i do. i see the problems becuase i use my phone a lot. how often do you guys your phone for other purposes beside playing game and calling?

it's not a user. i barely have any app in the phone. i have square and pdanet. i use my phone mainly for internet and getting payed but it lags many time loss internet on full 4g and such that causes problem specially for my business. and sometimes you can't even answer the phone when someone calls.

Huh? Huh? Huh? Huh?

2. the phone freezes and can't pick up the call or anything (mostly when i'm using pdanet)
6. when my phone is on pdanet and some one calls or send text msg the music cuts out a it's like a bad cd or something similar and i can't pick up since it's not responding. i use my phone for pdanet a lot so that's why i noticed it it's doing it when i use pdanet. it might do this even with out using pdanet.
7.when i play game it has lag sometimes and it has slow respond. i don't have many programs install so i don't know why it's doing it.

Have you ever considered that its not the phone but the apps you are using? You mention several times problems with PdaNet. I'd venture a guess that its PDANet that's an issue and not the phone, especially since PdaNet is a workaround for a tethering plan so not really supported by Sprint. Also, if the game(s) you are playing are online games and you don't have a good data connection and/or are running out of cache space, you'll have problems and its not the phone's fault. Its the app.

As far as your 4G connection issues, 4G doesn't work well inside buildings. That's a well-known fact at this point. Just because it shows full bars doesn't necessarily mean you have a solid connection.

But if you're so unhappy with the phone, why don't you just replace it instead of living in misery?

i don't think pdanet is going to cause problem on the phone itself. and also i use my phone outside 99% times. it even has no 4g on 4g area when i'm not using pdanet.

Yes, actually, apps can interfere with the phone's functioning. That is, by definition, what they do - alter the phone's functions. But whatevs. Like I said, get a new phone if you're unhappy with the Evo instead of wallowing in misery about it. Easy enough to do. As you have clearly seen, the vast majority on this site don't have problems with it and if they do, they know its either they aren't doing something right (or are doing something wrong) or its an app issue.

I apologize if I don't search to see if this has been covered.  If there is a better topic to post general problems, please say so.
I'll just hit the top four for now.

1. Can't unlock my sceen.  It's clean but just vibrates as you run your finger down it.  Eventually it unlocks.
2. Crappy camera.  No such thing as a good picture.  I haven't found settings where I have it set to 320x240  or something. Have I missed something?
3. Drops calls a lot compared to previous sprint phones.
4. How long will we pay for 4G and not have it?  Anyone buy into we still get benefit?

Thanks.

1. Try powering it off and pulling the battery for a few minutes.
2. Do a forum search and read the camera tips threads.
3. No clue, contact Sprint.
4. You don't pay for 4G. Do a forum search to learn what you pay for and what you don't. And yes, we all get benefits from the $10 premium data charge.

Honestly, people aren't going to want to help you if, out of the gate, you state you don't want to bother doing a search. That's the point of a forum, to have the information available for everyone instead of having to address each person individually, repeatedly.

I love my Evo (Love it!), but there are many things about it that frustrate the hell out of me. I just got done watching [something] on it while I had to be at my mother in-law's house who lives in a poe dunk town in Texas, luckily I had 1 bar of 4G so it streamed perfect. But that's off topic, there are so many little things the phone does (what I think as wrong) that make me want to toss it in the garbage. But as I keep at it, after time I for the most part realize what I've been doing wrong over and over. There are still a few things I just don't understand why. For instance 90% of the time I'm typing on forums holding the phone landscape, after about the 3rd or 4th sentence the screen scrolls up making it so I can't see what I'm typing. I have to minimize the keyboard, scroll up, then bring the keyboard back up (and sometimes that doesn't cure the problem) but I've just accepted it as either a problem with the phone or I'm doing something incorrectly but haven't figured what. I taught myself how to use this phone (and its my first smartphone) so I know there is a huge amount of things I've yet to discover that this phone can do. I do hit a few boards like these when I'm stumped, but for the most part I know I'm the only one who can teach me how to use this phone because Sprint's [deleted] customer service reps are worthless. They try hard but there is always a lot lost in translation.

So back to the TC's problem, its one of two things: your phone (all 3 of them) is bad, or you just aren't doing something correctly. My bet is on the latter. I have the same problem with 4G, its not picking up when I know for a fact there is 4G service I just used the day before. The signal is the same as your phone signal, if there are walls, obstructions, even atmospheric conditions to your your phone the service won't pass to the phone. 4G isn't everywhere so don't expect a quality connection to the internet just because we're paying for it. The screen cracking is an issue with the phone, its a flaw and shouldn't happen with a replacement. Apps do affect your phone and its processing power. You're holding a mini computer so you must understand that some 3rd party applications do not play well with others. Try doing all the same things you say you do and are having huge issues with, without any apps (besides the ones pre loaded on the phone) to rule out compatibility issues. If this all fails get a new phone other then the Evo, maybe you're more suited for an iPhone. You should be happy with what you have, and if the Evo sucks for you, move on. This phone works for me but that doesn't make it the best, I'm just happy.

I'm back, guess I was reinstated. Don't ban me for that comment please! I won't post anything else that involves or mentions stealing from a trademarked organization (which is why I got banned I guess) now on to gingerbread, I hate it! Why is it so glitchy? I used to love my Evo, not so much anymore. Speaking on forums are now a very time consuming task.

Hello,  Smiley
Im new! I had a tough time figuring out this phone when I first got it. I'm usually very good with any kind of phone, computer, etc. I had AT&T with a Samsung Captivate before this phone and when I got the Evo I was pleasantly surprised at the service. My gps never worked on my Captivate. The Evo never loses gps service. I think the service would be more of a carrier problem then a phone problem, right?  Another reason I was a little iffy with this phone at first was because the market had none of the apps I used regularly with the Captivate. Once again a carrier problem I assume. Once I figured out that you can download non-market apps I felt alot better.
