Sprint/HTC both know

heres the thing. EVeryone does it. We are their beta testers. Which is BS.

Think Windows ME, Windows Vista.
Both released followed very quickly with a new version. Beta testing.

HTC Evo I got one when no one could get one. I lucked out and found a store with one, already had a sprint account and was able to snatch one up. 6/10.

It worked well. I used taskiller and fast reboot to keep me going.

Well that one vanished.

I got my 'replacement'.

Good lord - a WORLD of difference. It is NOT the same phone. This bad boy moves like a hot knife through butter. Rarely snags (still does but when it does its big)  faster in every aspect.

My only conclusion is that the hardware is updated. The software is the same 2.2 and latest update.

Sux for those of enthusiasts who wanted one early. Great for the casual user who finally decides to get one.

Irony is that when I was waiting for replacement I saw two people the same day using an evo on the train and asked them about snags etc. They said rarely. Possible I got a defective one. Its also possible they remedied problems described by their 'beta testers' (you).

peace.

That is good that you got a "replacement" that worked. If only...

I have been a Sprint customer for over 10 years. In the early years I had a couple issues with customer service, but in recent years have had great service. In Dec 2009, while in Ensenada, Mexico I had a heart attack. While in the hospital in Mexico both my wife & I made numerous phone calls back to the states which added up to over $220. After I recovered and got home, I called Sprint and explained the situation asking for a payment plan, (I am old and on S.S.) The rep put me on hold and came back 5 minutes later and advised me that Sprint was going to credit me back for all the calls made from Mexico the 3 days I was in the hospital. Customer Service doesn't get any better than that.

I have an Evo Shift, have had it for about 3 months and have had nothing but problems...ive talked to tech support, CSR, escalations etc and nothing has been done.  i was never told about insurance on the phone and honestly i dont think i should have to pay for insurance b/c the phone is defective; i've looked online and many of the problems im having, other Sprint customers are having too.  My phone:  double sends emails, sometimes it doesnt send and i wont get a notification that it wasnt sent for days; it turns itself off, the touch screen doesnt always work, lately, the screens change by themself, as the phone is just sitting there..one of my coworkers saw it happen a few days ago and said my phone is possessed.  What i dont understand, i never had insurance on any of my phones, and my previous phone was a rumor touch which was defective and i had it replaced three times in one year, free of charge; now Sprint is saying that w/o insurance i have to come up with $35 to have it service and/or replaced.  The Sprint rep told me this policy has been in effect over a year, which I dont get, because i replaced my other phone 3 times just last year and insurance was never mentioned.  tech support told me with all the issues im having, to go to a corp store and even w/o insurance the phone would be replaced, well, i went and they wouldnt even look at the phone w/o me paying.  Due to me being out of work and major car problems, i just dont have that extra $, but as soon as i do, i will be back in the corporate store.  my daughter also has an Evo Shift, purchased hers about 6 months earlier, mine is an updated or newer version...she has no issues at all...
