Both of my sons have Rumor phones and have had them for over 2 years (my younger son's was mine before I switched to the Lotus when they came out). Both boys text a LOT and are rather rough on their phones. Slider phones, at least the Rumor, are incredibly durable. If I wasn't getting an Evo tomorrow, I'd wait for the Samsung above, mostly because I like physical keyboards and am used to them.

My son has the Touch Pro 2 and he wants my Evo. After using swype for a week, I can never go back to a slider keyboard. And I can't give up my kickstand!

Seriously, I don't understand people trashing the Evo, and praising this sight unseen.
